Abstract

We observed child sensory processing sensitivity (SPS) over a year (ages three to four) and found moderate stability in SPS. A curvilinear association between harsh environment and SPS change emerged. Children maintained similar levels of SPS under low and high environmental harshness but decreased in SPS under moderate harshness.
