Abstract

The study examined whether dissatisfaction with the penis acts as a chronic masculinity threat that induces negative compensatory strategies such as sexist attitudes. Results showed partial support for our predictions, with men’s endorsement of penis-related masculinity and precarious manhood beliefs predicting chronically sexist attitudes and sexually narcissistic ideologies.
