Abstract

This study investigated student’s classroom communication apprehension (CCA) from the perspective of self-determination theory (SDT). Results support our hypothesis that teachers' autonomy support indirectly predicts students' lower levels of CCA via the mediation of students' basic psychological need satisfaction (i.e., of autonomy, relatedness, and competence).
