Emotion Regulation Ability Profiles and Their Links with Emotion Regulation Strategies and Internalizing Symptoms

This study identified three subgroups of individuals who have distinct patterns of associations among crucial ability domains of positive and negative emotion regulation using latent profile analyses. The subgroup characterized by particularly low positive emotion regulation abilities demonstrated the highest levels of maladaptive emotion regulation strategy use and internalizing symptoms.
