Abstract
Control has been argued to be inherently rewarding, uncorrelated with outcomes. Conversely, if control is simply a means of obtaining an outcome, then preference for control should vary with reward outcome magnitude. We found that varying the reward outcomes did not alter control-seeking behavior suggesting that control is inherently rewarding.
