The Effects of Manipulating Moral Self-Perception on Mental Contamination and Contamination-Related Behaviors

Abstract
There is existing evidence that priming participants to have negative moral self-perceptions (NMSP) can evoke contamination-related behaviors (CRB). However, recent research has suggested that mental contamination mediates this relationship between NMSP and CRB. This study aimed to experimentally examine this proposed relationship between NMSP, mental contamination, and CRB.
