Abstract

Past research suggests spirituality promotes posttraumatic growth and buffers against posttraumatic stress. Moreover, spiritual practice may facilitate meaningfulness, which may have the same influence on posttraumatic responses. However, meaningfulness was positively associated with growth and negatively associated with stress over and above spirituality, which was not associated with posttraumatic responses.
