Abstract

Vaccination hesitancy is a major threat to public health. Results showed that gist representations of risks and benefits of vaccination, as well as specific disease risks and social values (endorsing responsibilities to other people), predicted vaccination intentions, controlling for knowledge, vaccine accessibility, and demographics. Similar results were obtained for behavior.
