Invalidation As a Predictor of Help-Seeking Behaviors and Mental Health Outcomes Among Survivors of Sexual Violence

This study suggests the possible relationship between experiencing invalidation during disclosure of sexual violence, the development of metal health symptomology, and a survivors likelihood to seek help post-assault. Data from 39 survivors of sexual violence highlights the relationship between social reactions to disclosure of sexual violence and survivor outcomes.
