Abstract

Terror management theory suggests people use defensive mechanisms such as spirituality to cope with fear of death. We tested whether grace, a religious construct, predicts thoughts and fear of death at two time points during the COVID-19 pandemic. Grace predicted fewer thoughts and less fear of death at both timepoints.
