Romantic Breakup and Social Media Surveillance

This study investigated association between romantic breakup distress, rejection sensitivity, and surveillance of ex-partner’s social media. Participants (N=102; Mean age=28.17, SD=9.06) were recruited using Facebook. Results show that breakup distress is moderately positively associated with rejection sensitivity whereas surveillance of ex-partner’s social media is moderately negatively associated with breakup distress.
