Abstract

This study examines relationships between family and neighborhood SES on academic skills, enablers, and achievement among early adolescents. Results suggest that students in households with lower SES are more likely to have poorer academic skills, enablers, and achievement. Neighborhood resources may compensate for low resources in the family.
