Abstract

The proposed study is a randomized controlled trial of compassion meditation versus health psychoeducation among 126 Veterans with chronic pain and psychological comorbidity (posttraumatic stress disorder and/or depression). We predict that compassion meditation will be associated with larger reductions in pain disability and severity of comorbid psychopathology compared to control.
