Abstract
We used positron emission tomography to inquire how citalopram changes metabolic activity within the orbitofrontal cortex (OFC) in 12 individuals with BD, after 6 weeks of treatment. Regression analyses revealed that depression severity predicted greater left OFC metabolic activity, and OFC reduced metabolic activity after treatment.
