Emotional Stroop and Word Recall: Effects of Word Type and State Anxiety

Abstract
The current study examined anxiety effects in emotional Stroop performance. An additional surprise recall task examined memory performance according to word type and participants’ state anxiety. Stroop performance and word recall were compared across all participants, as well as those self-reporting clinical versus nonclinical levels of state anxiety.
