Learned Helplessness: A Control Construct with Prediction over the Big Five

Research has shown Big Five personality effects on work motivation, affect, and performance. We posited benefits of using learned helplessness (LH) to predict outcomes over the Big Five because LH captures additional control-related content. Results indicated LH accounted for unique variance beyond the Big Five in eight of nine outcomes.
