Abstract
The present study examines autobiographical narratives of childhood memories, including child maltreatment experiences, by emerging adults. Child maltreatment disrupts the attachment bond, which links children to a secure base that protects them from harm and supports the development of emotion regulation abilities, which later use the form of narrative.
