Gendered Leadership during a Crisis: Emotional and Cognitive Channels Predict Trust in Leaders

We test the competing arguments that have been made regarding the emotional vs cognitive mechanisms predicting successful leadership during a crisis. This empirical study demonstrates the importance of leader management of follower emotions and leader ability to engage in sensegiving to followers.
