Abstract

We examined how Latina immigrants would be treated and welcomed as a function of several factors. Embracing the language and traditions of the host country favored immigrants greatly.  Self-reliance and entrepreneurship were important, but secondary to speaking English, embracing American traditions and dependence on public assistance.
