Abstract

Our research analyzed the connection between childhood exposure to violence and abuse, and sexual motives in adulthood. Results revealed that adults who witnessed or experienced violence in childhood were more likely to use sex to cope. Different predictors were strongest indicators of using sex to cope for women than men.
