Abstract

In a time of partisan animus, intellectual humility (IH) could improve political discourse. We surveyed 163 participants about two political issues and found that an issue's "moral importance" was unrelated to IH. However, increased moral importance predicted worse evaluations of opponents, while higher IH predicted better moral evaluations of opponents.
