Abstract

Anxious arousal and general distress symptoms significantly increased in emerging adults after the emergence of COVID-19. Anhedonic depression symptoms did not significantly increase after COVID-19 emerged, revealing that people experiencing depression due to the pandemic may display a unique subset of depressive symptoms (e.g., negative mood without loss of interest).
