The Mediating Role of Event Centrality in the Relationship between Sexual Revictimization and Posttraumatic Stress Disorder

Abstract
We examined event centrality (i.e., significance of trauma to one’s identity/life-story) in relation to sexual revictimization and PTSD. There was a significant positive relationship between the number of sexual victimizations and event centrality. The effect of the number of sexual victimizations on PTSD symptoms was significantly mediated by event centrality.
