Abstract

Two replication experiments examined forced-choice helping judgments of targets with equal genetic relatedness to the perceiver. More participants chose to help a higher fecundity target (18-year old half-sister) than a lower fecundity target (65-year old grandmother), but the opposite occurred when the lower fecundity target was a 3-year old half-sister.
