Enhancing Evidence of Innocence from Police Lineups

Abstract
We modified a police lineup such that when a lineup rejection occurs, the suspect is revealed to the witness (before confidence is gathered) along with the question: “How sure are you that this person is not the perpetrator?” Results suggest that this procedure increases accuracy and frequency of high-confidence exonerations.
