Attachment and Growth Mindset: New Directions for Predicting and Promoting Academic Success Among First-Year College Students

Abstract
Building on research showing the contribution of a growth mindset to academic success, this longitudinal investigation of an entire cohort of first-year college students found that attachment security mediated the relationship between growth mindset and end-of-semester GPA. Moderating variables, and possible implications for classroom teaching and institutions, are discussed.
