Abstract

This study examined the effect of solitary discourse and epistemic perspectives of knowledge claims on 60 college students’ evaluation of a dialogic argument. Findings showed that solitary discourse and a sophisticated level of epistemic perspective resulted in the ability to identify a reasoned argument. There was no impact on counterargument.
