Liquid Placebo Volume, Caffeine Expectations, and Their Mediating Effects on Caffeine Symptomatology

Past research suggests physical characteristics of pills can influence magnitude of placebo effects, with larger pills having greater impact. This study manipulated both caffeine dose expectation and dose volume of a liquid placebo. Unlike pills, we expected that smaller dose volume for a liquid placebo would have greater symptom impact.
