Abstract
This study investigates the effects of different emotion regulation strategies on social and emotional outcomes of conversations about relationship conflict between married couples across the adult lifespan. Analyses revealed that use of suppression predicted negative emotional outcomes, whereas reappraisal predicted high perceptions of conversation productivity. Age effects were minimal.
