Abstract
People create their own development through goals. To address uncertainty in goal attainment, people develop backup plans (BUPs). However, investment and use of these BUPs can threaten goal pursuit. The purpose of this work is to explore the role of BUPs in adolescence on an experimental motor-skills task.
