Abstract

Boundary extension (BE), a robust memory distortion, is linked to scene layout mental representation. We tested effects of different working memory loads on BE. Participants viewed scenes while doing search tasks alone, or with imagery tasks or verbal tasks. Results showed that both Visuospatial tasks and verbal tasks suppressed BE.
