Abstract
Study 1: dyads had short face-to-face discussions trying to reach consensus on how right or wrong they found an issue. Study 2: participants imagined these conversations and reported whether they expected to reach agreement or not. Rates of consensus in Study 1 exceeded rates anticipated by participants in Study 2.
