Linking Leaders’ Emotional Regulation to Employees’ Task Performance

Abstract
Drawing on the spillover perspective, this study examines the effect of team leaders’ emotional regulation (i.e., surface acting) on employees’ task performance. The team leaders’ surface acting was related negatively to their employees’ task performance. This relationship was mediated by employees’ surface acting and negative affect.
