Rear Negativity: Verbal Messages Coming from behind Are Perceived As More Negative

Abstract
Many studies explored the evaluative effects of vertical or horizontal spatial locations. However, little is known about the role of information from the front and back. We propose that sounds' location is a cue for valence - message from behind is interpreted as more negative than message presented in front.
