Abstract
Investigating gender bias in narcissistic pathology, clinicians (N = 108) read vignettes of hypothetical patients and made DSM classification. Vulnerable narcissism was significantly more likely diagnosed as borderline, dependent, and avoidant disorders. It is concluded that these findings may contribute to the gender bias observed in the DSM nomenclature.
