Abstract
We examined differences in resting-state brain activity associated with self-compassion level. Eyes-closed, resting-state brain activity was recorded using high-density EEG. Differences in gamma power were observed between high and low self-compassion groups over midline electrodes. We discuss the role of self-referential thinking in supporting high levels of self-compassion and well-being.
