Abstract
Gestational age at birth and neighborhood opportunity were examined as predictors of executive functioning among young children from primarily low-income, racial minority families. Gestational age at birth was not associated with attention shifting or inhibitory control, but it was positively associated with working memory. Greater neighborhood opportunity strengthened this association.
