Abstract
Latent profile analysis (LPA) with SAT and ACT scores examined the predictions of investment theories. Contra investment theories, LPAs revealed balanced ability profiles, with high or low scores on both math and verbal subtests, even after removing general intelligence. Results are discussed in light of recent research on ability tilt.
