Nonsuicidal Self-Injury in College Students: Associations with Religion, Resilience, and Positive View of Self

Abstract
Among 457 college students, as measured by the Healthy Minds Study, Nonsuicidal Self-Injury (NSSI) rates decreased across increasing levels of religious conviction. The NSSI students (16%) were lower in positive self-view as compared to a matched comparison group, but not lower in resilience. Several demographic differences were seen.
