Abstract

In two studies, participants read a vignette worded to suggest one of four metaphors used to describe terrorism. Attitudes were more predictive of solution ratings than metaphorical frame; conservative attitudes were linked to the endorsement of law enforcement and military intervention. Those with liberal attitudes favored epidemiological and educational solutions.
