Abstract
We developed the 28-item Scientific Skepticism Scale, administering it to 266 introductory psychology students. Using reliability analysis and correlations with dispositional measures of rational, analytic, and skeptical thinking, we reduced it to an 18-item scale which preserved the positive correlations with the dispositional measures and negative correlations with unsubstantiated beliefs.
