Abstract

In this study, correlations were examined between nucleus accumbens (NAc) volume and empathy for bullies and non-bullies, using neuroimaging. Reduced left NAc volume was associated with personal distress, especially among non-bullies, whereas reduced right NAc volume was found in relation to perspective taking and empathic concern, particularly among bullies.
