Adolescents’ Post-Traumatic Stress and Growth after Community Violence Exposure

Although there is a vast literature on post-traumatic stress (PTS) reactions, little research has examined a more constructive consequence of trauma – post-traumatic growth (PTG). We examine interrelations between PTS and PTG in relation to community violence in a diverse (90% nonwhite) sample of adolescents from an urban school district.
