Abstract
The present study examined age-related changes in adults’ moral conceptions of the self (i.e., moral identity and moral integrity) and contingencies of self-worth (i.e., virtue and others’ approval) across three developmental periods in adulthood. Results revealed that adults’ moral conceptions and contingencies of self-worth, although related, demonstrated different developmental trends.
