Abstract
Building from dynamic system theory, this study employed repeated experimental perturbations to examine how and when caregivers support children’s self-regulation during a frustrating wait task. In line with developmental theory, parents’ and children's behavior differed as a function of child age, but not as a result of these perturbations.
