Patterns of Persistence in Romantic Pursuit Among Narcissists

In one study, we examined the role of narcissism in romantic relationship pursuit. Participants were randomly assigned to either recall rejecting or being rejected by a romantic interest. Narcissism was associated with perceiving higher quality romantic alternatives in situations where individuals were rejecting their romantic interests.
