Using Video to Highlight Core Concepts in an Online Statistics Course

Abstract
In a large-scale classroom study, we randomly assigned statistics students to receive videos highlighting core concepts in an online interactive textbook. Findings show core-concept videos boost students’ performance on both low and high-stakes assessments, but that video engagement depends on prior performance and the type of questions following the video.
