Abstract

The current study examined the role of thwarted belongingness in predicting depressive symptoms and investigated the moderating role of cognitive reappraisal for African Americans. Regression analyses showed cognitive reappraisal moderated the association between thwarted belongingness and symptoms of depression (b= -.04, CI [-.07, -.000], p < .05).
