Abstract
Individuals often describe engaging in disordered eating behaviors to gain a sense of control. This analysis focuses on the fifth function, control, of Wedig and Nock’s (2010) expanded Functional Assessment of Maladaptive Behaviors. Statistically significant differences emerge among three disordered eating behaviors across four control subcategories (life, body, feelings, situation).
