Abstract
Perceived social isolation is linked to health problems. Social media use can exacerbate this isolation. We examined associations between SMU, PSI and self-esteem among a diverse youth sample. Between-subjects ANOVA's found that social exclusion, time on social media and number of sites visited predicted self-seem. Only social exclusion acted independently.
